Your Alpaca Cottage® is an Alpaca sanctuary on a private urban farm offering a safe space for you to relax, rest & restore. • We are honored to be included in the Top 1% of Airbnbs worldwide. • Our rescue Alpacas love their forever home, a well-maintained field just 20 steps from the cottage. • During your stay, you'll visit the Alpacas at the field gate & feed them carrots we provide you. • 70% of our guests are local to the Atlanta area. Your Alpaca Cottage, an Alpaca sanctuary on an urban farm, has a foundation rooted in kindness, diversity, equity, inclusion and a sense of belonging. We strive to ensure our hospitality reflects those values. Your stay will be reminiscent of a simpler, slower-paced time. The wind in the trees, the occasional hum of Alpacas, and the gentle sounds of our flock provide nature’s accompaniment. The cottage is situated on a little legacy farm (1.5 acres) near the cities of Decatur and Atlanta. The cottage is a wonderful place in which to rest, relax, celebrate special occasions, and build new memories. Overview: • Well-appointed, deluxe, and peaceful ~ the cottage is well equipped for leisure or business travel.   • We have been featured in numerous events, weddings, photo shoots, and independent film projects.  • Simply put, you'll not find a more unique or better-appointed spot in the area than the Your Alpaca Cottage! The Cottage features: • Bedroom - a 15" queen-sized medium cool aloe gel memory foam mattress and premium bedding. • Living room - plush Apt2B sofa and an over-sized Pottery Barn chair and ottoman, both selected with relaxation in mind. Joy Bird accessories complete the decor. • Kitchen – fully equipped if you wish to cook during your stay. • Bathroom -  impeccably clean with amenities including earth-friendly soap, shampoo, conditioner, and more . • Roku television, Netflix & high speed WiFi • Garden-view screened porch and a rocking chair pergola • Vintage architectural accents throughout, each one has a story all the way to the sliding wooden door, a beautiful piece of history salvaged from an early 1900s bungalow in the Cabbagetown district in Atlanta Other spaces: In addition to the Cottage, guests are also welcome to enjoy: •  the open air, Outdoor Dining Room - perfect for dining al fresco •  the 'Zen Den' rocking chair pergola next to the cottage • the 'Veg Out' seating area just next to the cottage situated in our organic vegetable garden Weddings/Events/Photo/Film: • We are experienced with intimate weddings and events, photography, and film.  If you are interested in any of these, just let us know.  These have special rates and terms, but we are happy to host!

House Rules

• Your Alpaca Cottage is a Safe Space and everyone is valued. • The guest cottage is located on an urban Alpaca sanctuary & offered as a relaxing retreat for up to four guests. If you have anything else in mind (e.g. photography, film, events), please discuss in advance of booking.  • Children of all ages are welcome! To ensure a good experience for you and the animals, children should be appropriately supervised. • Because the cottage is a located on our family's private urban farm, please communicate with your host in advance about outside visitors beyond those included on the reservation. ALPACAS: • Your Host will provide carrots & instructions for you to feed our rescue and adopted Alpacas from outside the field gate. IMPORTANT: Guests should not offer the Alpacas anything other than carrots. Many common foods / plants can make the Alpacas very sick and even cause death. • Guests should not tamper with the latch on the field gate, climb on the fence or enter the Alpaca field. This is for your safety as well as the safety of the Alpacas. There is a latch alarm which alerts us when it is opened. COMMUNICATION: • To ensure easy communication during the stay, guests agree to install the Airbnb app on their phone when a reservation is made to ensure ease of communication to/from your Host.  FIRE SAFETY & NO SMOKING: • As a fire safety precaution and out of respect for other guests, smoking, vaping, 420, incense, candles, fireworks, or other incendiary devices are not approved for use in the cottage or anywhere on the property. • NOTE regarding Events, Parties, Weddings & Film/Photo Shoots - we are experienced in hosting events, weddings, photography and film at our urban farm venue.  Please inquire before booking as these have additional stipulations and pricing.

The cottage is situated on a charming urban farm of 1.5 acres in Decatur, just outside Atlanta. The area features unique restaurants, all highlighted in the thoughtfully detailed Guest Guide. Convenient to Downtown Decatur, Atlanta, Emory University and much more, the cottage is perfect for travelers and locals alike. In fact, 70% of our guests are local to the area and enjoying a getaway without travel! We are experienced with hosting events & photo/film shoots. These have special pricing, so feel free to ask about these too!

Guest Access

Guests are welcome to visit with the Alpacas at the field gate, just 20 steps away from the guest cottage. We provide carrots, so you can enjoy treating the Alpacas during your stay! You also have access to the cottage and several comfortable outdoor seating areas located throughout our urban farm and adjacent to the cottage. You are also welcome to walk through the organic vegetable garden adjacent to the cottage. Off-street, designated parking is available for our guests next to the cottage (2 spaces.) Great location, private, peaceful, and quick walk to grocery stores and restaurants. Feeding carrots to the rescued alpacas was always fun. Host was helpful and gave easy clear instructions. Would recommend to friends. 5 stars in every way.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage, it is a little slice of heaven. The cottage is charming, cozy, and comfy but the best part of course is being greeted by the adorable alpacas as you come and go, and getting to feed them carrots. They are so sweet and cute… such a unique experience! Marykay was very responsive and had great suggestions for local restaurants. It was a peaceful weekend getaway. Highly recommend, especially if you love alpacas!

My girlfriend and I had a memorable time! The alpacas were a blast to feed and the property is peaceful and is close to everything nearby. Marykay is such a great host, she is very welcoming, responsive, and hospitable! The place was spotless and has everything you need. My gf and I will definitely be back!

I can't say enough about Marykay's place. The cottage is peaceful, private, and beautifully decorated. The alpacas are absolutely precious and we loved spending time with them. Markay is the ultimate communicator. Postive, helpful, and informative. The whole experience was absolutely charming, and we will defintely stay there again when visiting Atlanta. This place is worth every penny.

We loved staying at the alpaca cottage! Everything we needed was there and Marykay was so thoughtful. We loved spending time treating the alpacas and looking at the flowers and vegetable garden. It was a treat to stay here!

I’m so glad that my friend told me about this wonderful home near her. Your Alpaca Cottage was a great place to stay and Marykay could not have been a more gracious and understanding host! She was so responsive from the moment that I initially reached out and this continued through the stay. Marykay takes a lot of pride in her home and this is apparent - everything about it is very well done. It’s decorated nicely (love all the alpaca references throughout!) and is so welcoming to guests. The gardens are beautiful and the alpacas are a delight! The best way to start the day was to feed the alpacas with baby carrots provided by Marykay. This was such a unique, relaxing spot and I’m so happy I had the opportunity to stay here!

A perfect place for a fun & peaceful getaway. Nicest host ever who has thought of everything & so many adorable details to the cottage. So clean and comfortable! The garden was gorgeous and visiting the alpacas was a treat that makes this place worth the visit. Highly recommend!
