Your Alpaca Cottage® is an Alpaca sanctuary on a private urban farm offering a safe space for you to relax & refresh. • We are honored to be included in the Top 1% of Short Term Rentals worldwide. • Our rescue Alpacas love their forever home, a well-maintained field just 20 steps from the updated cottage. • During your stay, you'll visit the Alpacas at the field gate & feed them carrots we provide you. • 70% of our guests are local to the ATL area. Your Alpaca Cottage, an Alpaca sanctuary on an urban farm, has a foundation rooted in kindness, diversity, equity, inclusion and a sense of belonging. We strive to ensure our hospitality reflects those values. Your stay will be reminiscent of a simpler, slower-paced time. The wind in the trees, the occasional hum of Alpacas, and the gentle sounds of our flock provide nature’s accompaniment. The cottage is situated on a little legacy farm (1.5 acres) near the cities of Decatur and Atlanta. The cottage is a wonderful place in which to rest, relax, celebrate special occasions, and build new memories. Overview: • Well-appointed, deluxe, and peaceful ~ the cottage is well equipped for leisure or business travel.   • We have been featured in numerous events, weddings, photo shoots, and independent film projects.  • Simply put, you'll not find a more unique or better-appointed spot in the area than the Your Alpaca Cottage! The Cottage features: • Bedroom - a 15" queen-sized medium cool aloe gel memory foam mattress and premium bedding. • Living room - plush Apt2B sofa and an over-sized Pottery Barn chair and ottoman, both selected with relaxation in mind. Joy Bird accessories complete the decor. • Kitchen – fully equipped if you wish to cook during your stay. • Bathroom -  impeccably clean with amenities including earth-friendly soap, shampoo, conditioner, and more . • Roku television, Netflix & high speed WiFi • Garden-view screened porch and a rocking chair pergola • Vintage architectural accents throughout, each one has a story all the way to the sliding wooden door, a beautiful piece of history salvaged from an early 1900s bungalow in the Cabbagetown district in Atlanta Other spaces: In addition to the Cottage, guests are also welcome to enjoy: •  the open air, Outdoor Dining Room - perfect for dining al fresco •  the 'Zen Den' rocking chair pergola next to the cottage • the 'Veg Out' seating area just next to the cottage situated in our organic vegetable garden Weddings/Events/Photo/Film: • We are experienced with intimate weddings and events, photography, and film.  If you are interested in any of these, just let us know.  These have special rates and terms, but we are happy to host!

House Rules

• Your Alpaca Cottage is a Safe Space and everyone is valued. • The guest cottage is located on an urban Alpaca sanctuary & offered as a relaxing retreat for up to four guests. If you have anything else in mind (e.g. photography, film, events), please discuss in advance of booking.  • Children of all ages are welcome! To ensure a good experience for you and the animals, children should be appropriately supervised. • Because the cottage is a located on our family's private urban farm, please communicate with your host in advance about outside visitors beyond those included on the reservation. ALPACAS: • Your Host will provide carrots & instructions for you to feed our rescue and adopted Alpacas from outside the field gate. IMPORTANT: Guests should not offer the Alpacas anything other than carrots. Many common foods / plants can make the Alpacas very sick and even cause death. • Guests should not tamper with the latch on the field gate, climb on the fence or enter the Alpaca field. This is for your safety as well as the safety of the Alpacas. There is a latch alarm which alerts us when it is opened. COMMUNICATION: • To ensure easy communication during the stay, guests agree to have access to email on their phone when a reservation is made to ensure ease of communication to/from your Host.  FIRE SAFETY & NO SMOKING: • As a fire safety precaution and out of respect for other guests, smoking, vaping, 420, incense, candles, fireworks, or other incendiary devices are not approved for use in the cottage or anywhere on the property. • NOTE regarding Events, Parties, Weddings & Film/Photo Shoots - we are experienced in hosting events, weddings, photography and film at our urban farm venue.  Please inquire before booking as these have additional stipulations and pricing.

The cottage is situated on a charming urban farm of 1.5 acres in Decatur, just outside Atlanta. The area features unique restaurants, all highlighted in the thoughtfully detailed Guest Guide. Convenient to Downtown Decatur, Atlanta, Emory University and much more, the cottage is perfect for travelers and locals alike. In fact, 70% of our guests are local to the area and enjoying a getaway without travel! We are experienced with hosting events & photo/film shoots. These have special pricing, so feel free to ask about these too!

Guest Access

Guests are welcome to visit with the Alpacas at the field gate, just 20 steps away from the guest cottage. We provide carrots, so you can enjoy treating the Alpacas during your stay! You also have access to the cottage and several comfortable outdoor seating areas located throughout our urban farm and adjacent to the cottage. You are also welcome to walk through the organic vegetable garden adjacent to the cottage. Off-street, designated parking is available for our guests next to the cottage (2 spaces.) We loved staying at the alpaca cottage! Everything we needed was there and Marykay was so thoughtful. We loved spending time treating the alpacas and looking at the flowers and vegetable garden. It was a treat to stay here!

I’m so glad that my friend told me about this wonderful home near her. Your Alpaca Cottage was a great place to stay and Marykay could not have been a more gracious and understanding host! She was so responsive from the moment that I initially reached out and this continued through the stay. Marykay takes a lot of pride in her home and this is apparent - everything about it is very well done. It’s decorated nicely (love all the alpaca references throughout!) and is so welcoming to guests. The gardens are beautiful and the alpacas are a delight! The best way to start the day was to feed the alpacas with baby carrots provided by Marykay. This was such a unique, relaxing spot and I’m so happy I had the opportunity to stay here!

A perfect place for a fun & peaceful getaway. Nicest host ever who has thought of everything & so many adorable details to the cottage. So clean and comfortable! The garden was gorgeous and visiting the alpacas was a treat that makes this place worth the visit. Highly recommend!

We travel to the Atlanta area quite often since our daughter moved there and have stayed in many nice properites but this is by far, the most enjoyable and can't wait to return! The cottage is so adorable and cozy. The grounds are so peaceful and relaxing and the alpacas are a bonus; we fed them about 4 lbs. of carrots! We began the day feeding them and ended the day feeding them. It was something we really looked forward to. Marykay was a wonderful host, readily available and so hospitable. We're already planning a return stay in the cooler months when we can enjoy the beautiful grounds even more!

Marykay is a fabulous host! She is very responsive, happy to provide recommendations for local dining/entertainment and made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend a stay in her cottage. My daughter and I made some sweet memories during our week together visiting daily with the Alpacas, going on walks, and relaxing in the quaint, tucked away location surrounded with beautiful flower gardens. The outdoor dining area quickly became a favorite spot during our stay. The kitchen is well-stocked with all essential cooking tools which made eating in a delight. We are grateful for our time here and look forward to a return visit in the future.

We recently had a mother/daughter staycation at the Alpaca Cottage near our Decatur home. All the Alpacas came running to greet us as we got out of the car. We hurried into the cottage to grab the carrots Marykay provides in the refrigerator, and had so much fun feeding them to our new furry friends! Wonderful treats and great coffee are also provided for guests, and restaurants and stores are within 5 miles. The Cottage is so very warm and inviting with every nicety and necessity you could wish for. One rainy day was spent on the porch bench/bed reading and listening to soothing sounds of nature. Surrounded by beautiful plants and greenery, one feels as if he is in the countryside. Marykay checked on us daily to make sure all was going perfectly and we felt totally pampered. We had so many laughs making frequent trips to see the guys in the Alpaca herd. It took a while to learn to distract the carrot-crazed “Lover boy” so that we could also feed the others! I had a peaceful and relaxing stay at the cottage. I can't think of a more welcoming space to land and I travel a LOT. Mary Kay gave special attention to so many things in the cottage, from the pillows to rugs to the little twinkle lights on when I arrived! I loved meeting the herd and figuring out their little personalities and knowing they would great me (if I had some baby carrots on hand). I came to stay for work while in the area but will certainly come back to relax with family. What a little oasis in the middle of Decatur!

At Marykay's place, you're getting so much more than a cottage - you're getting an EXPERIENCE!! The cottage must have been professionally redesigned, & the flower gardens were beautiful. But of course what was truly unique were the alpacas! Where else are you going to see those? They were very friendly & welcoming. I & my family really enjoyed feeding them. Marykay uses a professional cleaning service as well as gardeners. You would have no idea this place existed, as it's in the back of a suburban neighborhood. It's very private - there's only 1 cottage, & you have it all to yourself. The kitchen is stocked w/everything you can imagine - cooking & eating utensils, bottled water, & even spices. Marykay has gone out of her way to ensure that you lack for nothing. There are several sitting areas outside of the cottage for you to enjoy nature. My visit was too busy to enjoy those, but I really appreciated the serenity & the privacy. Google "Your Alpaca Cottage" for more info!
